From the last of the Best of the Savoy Ballroom:  Sonny Allen will have you learn the dynamic’s of leading and following, and the understanding of clues. Master the development of proper balance and resistance as you explore the deeper relationship that a Leader has to their own movement and that of their partner.

Sonny will help you improve your partnering skills with an awareness of spacing and positioning between your partner. This Harlem Lindy Hop Legend will also enlighten you about the fabulous Savoy Ballroom firsthand, and how he won the exciting Harvest Moon Ball competition (in less than a year!) and carried on the winning tradition. A rare and exciting treat for your Frankie 100 weekend!

Learn dance etiquette, styling and more!  Leaders are welcome to understand how the follower can be guided to stay in position for the best partnering.  

These two Harlem Lindy Hop legends will also enlighten you about the fabulous Savoy Ballroom firsthand, and the exciting Harvest Moon Ball competition: It was a far cry from contests of today.  A rare and exciting treat for your Frankie 100 weekend!

SAVOY STYLE: 

50's Swing Dance Workshop

12pm  -1:30pm

The Music changed in the 1950's but style and class did not! 

Listen and learn from the last of the Best of the Savoy Ballroom: Sonny Allen will have you learn the Harlem technique that was popular and a smooth style for any age. 

A lively and fun dance,the 50's Savoy Swing style is characterized by swing music with basic rhythms yet more from the music of the era.  Within this workshop Sonny will cover the basics and  various Lindy Moves to assist you to get in beat and rhythm.  Also included are viewing rare artifacts - and a rare unique opportunity for your Frankie 100 weekend on the dance floor!
